The   Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB)   is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. It is administered annually to more than one million military applicants, high school, and post-secondary students. Although it is most widely used with candidates for the military, the assessment provides valuable information to all students, as it encourages them to explore a wide variety of careers, rather than limiting their exploration by telling them what they can or should do. Important Financial Aid & College Application Updates - Class of 2024

  Dear Students and Families of the Class of 2024 -   Please read this message in its entirety - there are a lot of updates regarding the financial aid and college application process at HHS.   You may have heard that there will be a significant overhaul of the processes and systems used to award federal student aid starting with the 2024–25 award year, which includes streamlining the  Free Application for Federal Student  Aid (FAFSA®) form. Here are the highlights: The FAFSA form previously opened on October 1st for the following academic year; in 2023, the FAFSA is currently projected to open in December to file for the 2024–25 award year. New term:  Contributor – Someone who is required to provide information on the FAFSA form. The new FAFSA is role-based, meaning that each contributor accessing the form will only see their section. The Direct Data Exchange (DDX) replaces the Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) to access tax information from the IRS. All contributors must consent to tax acce

Reminder - Nuts & Bolts of the College Application Process

  Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),  Just a quick reminder about tomorrow's event,  Nuts & Bolts of the College Application Process!  Join the school counselors as they walk you through the logistics of the college application process (including an overview of the Common App, Scoir, financial aid, standardized testing, and more!).  This event is geared towards parent(s)/guardian(s) of seniors applying to colleges, however, families of all grades are welcome to attend.  No RSVP necessary. We are expecting this event to last approximately 45 minutes - 1 hour. Please choose from two times/formats:  Wednesday, September 27th at 8:30 am in-person in the  HHS Library  - coffee & tea will be served! Wednesday, September 27th at 5:00 pm  virtually.  Please use this link . This event will be recorded for those who are unable to join us.
