ASVAB Exam - 12/11/23

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. It is administered annually to more than one million military applicants, high school, and post-secondary students. Although it is most widely used with candidates for the military, the assessment provides valuable information to all students, as it encourages them to explore a wide variety of careers, rather than limiting their exploration by telling them what they can or should do. The test is a predictor of success in training and education programs, and measures students' knowledge 8 different sub-areas:

  • General Science
  • Arithmetic Reasoning
  • Word Knowledge
  • Paragraph Comprehension
  • Mathematics Knowledge
  • Electronics Information
  • Auto and Shop Information
  • Mechanical Comprehension

HHS is pleased to offer this test free-of-charge to any interested 10th, 11th, or 12th grader. A representative from ASVAB will be administering the test at HHS in room 303 on Monday, December 11th from 8:30 am - 11:30 am (C day). Testing students will miss C, D, and DSB on this day and are responsible for any work missed during this time. If you/your student is interested in signing up for the test, please fill out this form no later than Wednesday, December 6th.

2022 PSAT Registration - Grades 10 & 11

Registration for the PSAT/NMSQT begins Friday, August 26th!  This year, the PSAT will be offered to both 10th and 11th graders. It will be administered on a school day, Wednesday, October 12th. WHY TAKE THE PSAT?  Practice! Plus, with your scores you will be able to connect to the personalized test prep offered through Khan Academy that is designed for each individual student based on an analysis of their performance on the test.  WHAT IS NMSQT?  NMSQT stands for the "National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test." The end of the year student celebrations are quickly approaching. For planning purposes, we are sharing the following event schedule:  Wednesday, June 1, 2022 - Senior Scholarship Evening - 7:00 pm Recipients and their families will be notified in advance via email. Recipients and their families are invited to attend. This event will be live-streamed and broadcast through Holliston Cable Access Television.
