Hi Seniors and Parent(s)/Guardian(s) of the Class of 2023 - 

We hope you are enjoying your last full week of summer break! 

This is a quick reminder about College Application Bootcamp being held this Thursday, August 25th, at HHS. There will be (mostly) repeating sessions offered at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 12 p.m. You do not have to attend all three - please go to sessions in which you have an interest or that focus on an area where you may need more support. The schedule for the morning is below; descriptions are available here.

  • 10:00 a.m. - Nuts & Bolts of the College App Process (303), Getting Started with Scoir (300), Common App (302), Essays (304)
  • 11:00 a.m. - Financial Aid w/ MEFA (303), Getting Started with Scoir (300), Essays (302), Resumes (304)
  • 12:00 p.m. - Essays (303), Getting Started with Scoir (300), Common App (302), Resumes (304)

If you are unable to attend, please don't worry. We will be offering similar sessions again in September and October during DSB. As always, please reach out to your counselor with any questions or concerns.

  Dear Students and Families of the Class of 2024 -   Please read this message in its entirety - there are a lot of updates regarding the financial aid and college application process at HHS.   You may have heard that there will be a significant overhaul of the processes and systems used to award federal student aid starting with the 2024–25 award year, which includes streamlining the  Free Application for Federal Student  Aid (FAFSA®) form. Here are the highlights: The FAFSA form previously opened on October 1st for the following academic year; in 2023, the FAFSA is currently projected to open in December to file for the 2024–25 award year. New term:  Contributor – Someone who is required to provide information on the FAFSA form. The new FAFSA is role-based, meaning that each contributor accessing the form will only see their section.
